Pick-Up and First Stop: Tarsanas Shipyard

We’ll pick you up at your location and head to Tarsanas, a shipyard with deep ties to the island’s maritime tradition. Located south of the harbor, this shipyard emerged in the mid-19th century alongside the large “Neorio” dockyard. It played a vital role in the hauling and launching of vessels and continues the island’s shipbuilding legacy today with modernized equipment.

Explore Syros’ Industrial Heritage at the Museum

Next, we’ll visit the Industrial Museum, which showcases the island’s golden industrial era. The museum features tools, machinery, and exhibits from workshops such as loukoumi production, textiles, tanning, printing, and glassmaking. Digital archives and a three-dimensional representation of industrial buildings enhance the experience. Notably, the museum displays the first Greek electric car, the Enfield 8000.

Discover the Medieval Charm of Ano Syros

Leaving the industrial past behind, we’ll journey to the medieval town of Ano Syros, founded in 1200 by the Venetians. The town has preserved its Catholic character and medieval architecture. We’ll stroll through traditional alleys, passing whitewashed houses and arches, leading to the Catholic Cathedral of Saint George at the town’s summit.

Step Back in Time at Poseidonia Village

Finally, we’ll visit Poseidonia village, home to a simulation of a traditional country house. Surrounded by Neoclassical buildings, this museum brings the past to life. Exhibits showcase traditional clothing, tools, and household items, along with historical photographs and models, offering a vivid look at the daily life of villagers through the ages.
