Explore the historic beauty of Syros on a guided tour, visiting the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, Apollon Theater, Neoclassical mansions, and the charming settlement of Ano Syros.
We will pick you up at your location and begin our journey with a visit to the majestic Cathedral of St. Nicholas in the Vaporia district. This impressive cathedral is surrounded by high-ceiling mansions that seem to float above the sea. Next, we’ll head to the iconic Apollon Theater, built in 1864 by Italian architect Pietro Sampo. The theater, inspired by Italian design, is a cultural hub that hosts events today.
Our next stop is a stunning Neoclassical mansion, where you’ll step into a world of timeless elegance. The walls, adorned with scenic paintings, and the intricate plasterwork on the ceilings reflect an aristocratic past. We’ll then visit Miaoulis Square, the heart of Hermoupolis, where the Town Hall, designed by Ernst Ziller in 1898, blends Tuscan, Ionic, and Corinthian styles.
Finally, we’ll explore the medieval settlement of Ano Syros, perched atop the hill. We’ll visit the Cathedral of St. George and wander through the charming ‘Piatsa’ center.
