Essence of Naxos Tour

Ourfirst stop is Kouros of Melanes or Kouros the Greek,asit s widely known. It an imprsessive 6th century BC statue abandoned in the ancient marble quarry,a perfect sample of Archaic period sculpture. Then we have a photostop ,as close as possible of the biggest modern Naxos’ marble quarry.
We cross Kynidaros and drive along vineyards ,enjoying mountain view on whirlwind streets and head to our next photostop ,Stavros Keramotis.There will be time to admire the view of both,West and East coast of the island from the same spot,taking spectacular photos and if we are lucky,we might see flocks of mountain goats crossing the street. Next stop is Apiranthos,the marble village famous for the cobbled streets,alleys which are perfect to take photos and create new memories of your Greek holidays.
Then we drive on Zas or Zeus mountain,crossFiloti and end up for lunch break at Chalki, the neoclassical style,classy village in the heart of Tragea valley ,where we have lunch break or you can walk in the olive groves to see the Byzantine church of St George Diasoritis(11thcen AD).
Our next stop is at Damalas village to enjoy a fun demonstration at the local traditional pottery workshop,which it’s really worth it! Following stop is at Bazeostower ,once a former monastery of 17thcenAD,culturalcentre and significant monument nowadays .
On our way back to Naxos town,our last stop is Belonia tower,one of the best preserved tower-houses of the island built in 1610 by GeronymoSomarripa, to enjoy spectacular view of Naxos town,the Venetian castle and Paros island
