Day 1: Arrival in Athens

Arrive at Athens Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) and be transferred to your 3-star Athens hotel for check-in. Enjoy your first evening in Greece with free time to relax or explore the area. Overnight in Athens. (Breakfast included)

Day 2: Athens – Delphi – Kalambaka

After breakfast, depart for Delphi, driving through the picturesque Boeotia plain, passing by Thebes, Livadia, and the charming village of Arachova. Upon arrival in Delphi, visit the Archaeological Site and discover the ancient sanctuary once considered the center of the world in Greek mythology. After your visit, continue your journey towards Kalambaka, a small town nestled at the foot of the famous Meteora rock formations. Enjoy a relaxing dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Meteora – Thessaloniki

This morning, visit Meteora, one of Greece’s most awe-inspiring sights. Perched atop towering rock formations, the monasteries here are some of the most significant examples of Byzantine art and architecture. After the visit, drive through the plain of Thessaly and the Valley of Tempi, passing the magnificent Mount Olympus, the legendary home of the 12 Greek gods. Arrive in Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city, known for its vibrant culture and rich history. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Thessaloniki.

Day 4: Thessaloniki City Tour

After breakfast, embark on a tour of Thessaloniki, which was once a co-reigning city of the Byzantine Empire, second only to Constantinople. Visit some of the city’s most important monuments, including its ancient Byzantine churches and the Museum of Byzantine Culture, a UNESCO-awarded museum showcasing Thessaloniki’s fascinating Byzantine heritage. Spend the afternoon exploring the lively city center at your own pace, perhaps enjoying local shops and cafes.

Day 5: Edessa, Naoussa, Vergina & Veria

This morning, depart for Edessa, known for its stunning waterfalls, a natural landmark of the region. Continue to Naoussa, the site of Aristotle’s School, where the great philosopher taught Alexander the Great and his companions. From here, drive to Vergina, the ancient capital of Macedonia. Visit the royal tombs, including the tomb of King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great, and see the exceptional treasures discovered in the Vergina Museum. Your next stop is Veria (Biblical Beroea), where you can visit Saint Paul’s Bema, the place where Saint Paul preached to the early Christians. Explore the old Jewish neighborhood and the colorful market area before returning to Thessaloniki for dinner.

Day 6: Pella, Dion & Return to Athens

After breakfast, depart for Pella, the ancient capital of Alexander the Great, where you’ll visit the archaeological site and admire the stunning 4th-century floor mosaics. Continue to Dion, the sacred city of the Macedonians at the foot of Mount Olympus, and explore the archaeological park. Afterward, head south, passing through Thessaly, Lamia, and Thermopylae, where you’ll make a brief stop to view Leonidas’ Monument. Arrive in Athens in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Athens City Tour & Acropolis Museum

After breakfast, enjoy a half-day Athens City Tour with a visit to the iconic Acropolis Museum. Discover the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. Pass by significant landmarks such as the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, and the Academy of Athens. Then, head up to the Acropolis, home to masterpieces from the Golden Age of Athens, including the Parthenon, the Propylaea, and the Temple of Athena Nike. End the tour at the Acropolis Museum, where you’ll admire the treasures from the Acropolis site.

Day 8: Free Day in Athens

Enjoy a free day to explore Athens at your own pace. You can stroll through the charming Plaka district, visit Monastiraki for local markets, or shop at Ermou Street. If you’re interested, you may also visit other museums like the National Archaeological Museum or take in panoramic views from Mount Lycabettus.

Day 9: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Athens Airport for your return flight home, taking with you unforgettable memories of your journey through the heart of Greece.
