Discover the rich history of Northern Greece with a full-day tour to Vergina and Veria. Visit Apostle Paul’s preaching site, explore the new Aigai Museum, and see the Royal Tombs of Philip II.

Explore two of Northern Greece’s most fascinating destinations on this full-day tour. Combine ancient Macedonian history with early Christian heritage as you visit Veria and Vergina with a professional, licensed guide.

Your first stop is Veria, a town known for its strong religious roots. This is where Apostle Paul preached during his second missionary journey. The city still draws pilgrims today, thanks to its spiritual landmarks and peaceful atmosphere.

After Veria, the tour continues to Vergina, once called Aegae, the first capital of ancient Macedonia. There, you will visit the new Museum of Aigai, recently opened to the public. This modern museum offers a clear and engaging look into the daily life, culture, and achievements of the Macedonian royal family. Exhibits include ancient pottery, weapons, sculptures, and beautiful jewelry.

Next, walk beneath the great burial mound to discover the Royal Tombs of Vergina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Among the tombs is that of Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. Inside, you’ll see priceless treasures from the 4th century BC, including gold artifacts and detailed burial items. This experience offers a rare and moving look at ancient Macedonian power and splendor.

To end the tour, you’ll have free time in the village of Vergina. You can enjoy lunch at a traditional taverna (ask your guide for suggestions), or choose an optional visit to the remains of the Royal Palace.

Afterwards, you’ll return to your original pickup point.
