Hinterland of Naxos Tour, Approximately 4-5 hours Every day on demand, organized on client’s request/suggested time.

Our journey begins with a visit to Bazeos Tower, a former 17th-century monastery that now serves as a cultural center and an important historical monument. From there, we drive through the picturesque Tragea Valley, renowned for its vast olive groves and the ancient Apanokastro. We’ll stop in the charming village of Damalas, where you can witness a live demonstration at the last remaining traditional pottery workshop, explore a restored olive press, and learn about ancient olive oil production methods. Afterward, enjoy a stroll through the village square.

Next, we head to Chalki, a neoclassical village known for its scenic alleys and the traditional citron distillery and museum. Take a moment to savor an espresso while soaking in the village’s timeless atmosphere. Our journey continues with a visit to Panagia Drossiani, the oldest Byzantine church in the Balkans, dating back to the 4th or 6th century AD.

We’ll then make a photo stop at a vantage point offering the most breathtaking view of the Tragea Valley, before crossing through the village of Kynidaros. The final highlight of the day is a visit to the Kouros of Melanes, a striking 6th-century BC statue left abandoned in an ancient marble quarry—a perfect example of Archaic sculpture.

If requested, we can enjoy a lunch or snack break in the village of Kourounochori, where you’ll be treated to a delightful meal with a stunning view of Melanes Valley.
