3. Visit to the Olive Tree Museum of Vouves

Next, we head to the Olive Tree Museum, where you’ll see one of the world’s oldest olive trees—estimated to be between 3,000 and 5,000 years old.
At the museum, learn about the deep cultural and economic significance of olive cultivation in Crete. Discover traditional harvesting tools and methods still respected today.

4. Visit to Gonia Monastery – Kolymbari

Our final stop is the historic Monastery of Panagia Odigitria, also known as Gonia Monastery.
Founded in the 9th century, the monastery was later moved to its current location to escape pirate attacks. The existing structure, built in 1618, features stunning frescoes, religious icons, and traditional architecture.

While you explore, absorb the peaceful ambiance of this sacred place and gain a deeper understanding of the Orthodox faith’s role in Cretan identity.

After a day rich in culture, taste, and tradition, we return to the original meeting point in Chania.
You’ll leave with unforgettable memories and a deeper connection to Crete’s authentic soul.
