This small town in western Peloponnese combines traditional architecture, modern tourist facilities and nice beaches in the region. On top of the hill above the modern town is the picturesque Old Town of Kyparissia and the Venetian Castle. This location is a great destination for families with kids and also serves as a convenient base for excursions in western and southern Peloponnese, such as to Olympia, Kalamata, Pylos and more.

How to get there?

Kyparissia is accessible by intercity buses connecting it to Kalamata and Gargaliani. From Kalamata’s central bus station, you can take buses to nearby villages. Frequent buses also run from Athens to Kyparissia, departing from Kifissos Bus Station with a 4-hour travel time. By car, drive from Athens via the Corinth-Kalamata National Road and follow signs to Kyparissia (245 km). There is no airport in Kyparissia; the nearest airports are in Kalamata (summer-only flights) and Athens (year-round domestic and international flights). Buses or rental cars are available from both cities.
