Starting Strong in Athens
Their journey began in Athens, where the Acropolis stood proudly without the usual lines. With the capital’s ancient streets less crowded, they enjoyed long walks through Plaka, authentic meals in tucked-away tavernas, and unobstructed views of historic landmarks.
Romance in Nafplion and the Mountains of Kalavryta
From there, they hit the road to Nafplion, one of Greece’s most romantic seaside towns. Without the summer rush, they could take their time wandering cobblestone alleys and climbing up to Palamidi Fortress. Next was Kalavryta, where mountain charm, fresh air, and warm local hospitality made for a peaceful retreat.
History and Myth in Delphi and Meteora
In Arachova, they experienced the gateway to Delphi—the navel of the ancient world. The sacred site was blissfully quiet, allowing space for reflection and awe. The road then led them to Kalampaka, where the monasteries of Meteora rose dramatically from the mist-covered cliffs. Fewer tourists meant they could fully absorb the serene majesty of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Island Escape to Corfu
Even in March, Corfu welcomed them with open arms. Lush green hills and pastel-colored homes painted the perfect picture of island life without the crowds. From charming Corfu Town to coastal drives through sleepy villages, they found peace in every corner.
