A Taste of Greece: 7 Nights / 8 Days 

Day 1: Arrival in Athens

  • Arrival & Private Transfer: Upon arrival at Athens International Airport, your private driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Athens. The remainder of the day is yours to relax after your journey or begin exploring the city at your own pace.
  • Welcome Experience: Depending on the arrival times of all participants, join your fellow travelers for either a traditional Greek welcome dinner featuring a curated local menu or an exclusive Greek wine pairing experience in a private venue in Athens. This is the perfect opportunity to meet the group and begin your Greek culinary journey.
  • Overnight: Athens.

Day 2: Athens – Acropolis, Acropolis Museum & Greek Food Tour

  • Morning: After breakfast, discover the highlights of Athens with a guided visit to the iconic Acropolis, followed by a tour of the world-renowned Acropolis Museum. Learn about the city’s fascinating history and the legacy of Ancient Greece with your licensed guide.
  • Afternoon: Continue your day with an immersive Greek food tour. Explore vibrant neighborhoods while sampling authentic local specialties, visiting family-run establishments, and enjoying a full traditional Greek meal. This experience offers the perfect introduction to Greece’s rich culinary heritage.
  • Evening: The evening is free for you to explore Athens at your leisure, stroll through the charming streets of Plaka, or enjoy a drink at one of the city’s rooftop bars.
  • Overnight: Athens.

Day 3: Athens to Kalamata – Sparta & Olive Oil Heritage

  • Morning: After breakfast, depart Athens and begin your journey toward Kalamata, the heart of the Peloponnese.
  • En Route: Stop in historic Sparta to visit the Olive and Greek Olive Oil Museum, where you’ll discover the centuries-old traditions of olive cultivation and olive oil production in Greece.
  • Lunch: Enjoy a light lunch in the Sparta area before having some free time to explore the town.
  • Optional Activity: If the group wishes, an optional visit can be made to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mystras. Please note that entrance fees and guided services are not included and can be arranged on the spot.
  • Afternoon: Continue to Kalamata and check into your hotel.
  • Evening: Free to explore Kalamata’s lively waterfront, cafés, and charming old town.
  • Overnight: Kalamata.

Day 4: Kalamata – Food Tour & Mani Peninsula Scenic Drive

  • Morning & Afternoon: Experience the authentic flavors of Kalamata during a guided food tour, sampling regional delicacies including olives, cheeses, local sweets, and traditional products. Continue with a scenic drive through the spectacular Mani Peninsula, visiting some of the region’s most picturesque villages known for their stone tower houses, dramatic landscapes, and rich history.
  • Evening: Enjoy a leisurely evening in Kalamata at your own pace.
  • Overnight: Kalamata.

Day 5: Kalamata to Nafplion – Traditional Villages & Rural Greece

  • Morning: After breakfast, depart Kalamata and travel toward the elegant seaside town of Nafplion.
  • En Route: Along the way, visit traditional Peloponnesian villages and experience authentic rural Greece. Stop for lunch at a traditional family-run countryside taverna, where you’ll enjoy homemade local specialties prepared with fresh regional ingredients.
  • Afternoon: Arrive in Nafplion and check into your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore the picturesque old town, its Venetian architecture, and charming waterfront.
  • Optional Activity: Visit the nearby seaside village of Tolo during the evening for a relaxing walk or dinner by the sea (at your own expense).
  • Overnight: Nafplion.

Day 6: Nafplion – Beekeeping Experience & Greek Cooking Class

  • Morning: After breakfast, enjoy a unique beekeeping and candle-making experience, where you’ll learn about Greece’s long tradition of honey production and create your own natural beeswax candle.
  • Midday: Continue with a hands-on Greek cooking class using fresh local ingredients. Under the guidance of a local chef, prepare traditional regional dishes before enjoying the delicious meal you’ve created together.
  • Evening: Free time to explore Nafplion.
  • Optional Activity: Drive up to the impressive Palamidi Fortress for panoramic views over Nafplion. Entrance fees are not included and can be paid locally.
  • Overnight: Nafplion.

Day 7: Nafplion to Athens – Mycenae & Nemea Wine Region

  • Morning: After breakfast, begin your return journey to Athens.
  • Optional Activity: On the way, stop at the legendary archaeological site of Mycenae, one of Greece’s most important Bronze Age civilizations and home to the famous Lion Gate and Royal Tombs. Entrance fees and guiding services are not included and may be arranged locally.
  • Midday: Continue to the renowned wine region of Nemea, often referred to as the wine capital of the Peloponnese. Visit a local winery to learn about the region’s indigenous Agiorgitiko grape variety while enjoying a guided wine tasting accompanied by a light lunch.
  • Afternoon: Arrive in Athens and check into your hotel.
  • Evening: Gather one last time with your fellow travelers for a memorable farewell dinner celebrating an unforgettable journey through Greece.
  • Overnight: Athens.

Day 8: Departure

  • Private Departure Transfer: It is now time to say goodbye to Greece. Your private driver will transfer you from your hotel to Athens International Airport for your departure flight.
  • Optional Extension: If you’d like to continue your Greek adventure, consider extending your stay with a visit to one of Greece’s beautiful islands or another mainland destination. Your travel consultant will be happy to assist with extension options.
