In this tour, you will learn about traditional Greek fishing techniques. Local captain Anthi and her experienced fishermen will share their fishing secrets in Santorini. The boat departs from Vlychada harbor and sails along the coast, passing Red, White, and Black beaches. You will make two stops in the sea. The first stop is to catch small shrimp and, possibly, octopus. The second stop is for fishing nets to catch a variety of rockfish, a local species.
The last stop is at Black Beach, also known as Mesa Pigadia Bay. This bay has the clearest water on the island and is ideal for fishing, as it is sheltered from the weather. The stop will last 2-3 hours for snorkeling, fishing, and enjoying lunch or dinner.
Captain Anthi and her crew will teach you how to catch fish using handlines and rods. You can catch fish on your own. Snorkeling equipment and towels are provided. The meal will be the catch of the day, served with local appetizers and grilled veggies. Drinks, including local wine, beer, water, and soft drinks, are unlimited.
On the way back, the crew will set the nets and traps for the next day’s tour. You will see the famous Indian Rock, the lighthouse, and, in the evening, the Santorini sunset. Once back at the port, the driver will drop you off at the pickup point.
