Meganisi is an island between Lefkada and Etoloakarnania. Meganisi is the largest island of the complex of the Lefkada Principality Islands, that is why it is named so.

Opposite the southeast coast of Lefkada.Its northern part has a deep sea break and wonderful lacy coastlines, with beautiful beaches, while the southern part is an elongated strip of land.The settlements – Katomeri, Spartochori and Vathi- are built in a wonderful landscape and have a traditional color. Ferries and excursion boats connect Meganissi with Nydri.Its settlements are Kalamos, Episkopi, Kastro and Kefali. The port of Kalamos is connected to Mytika in Etoloakarnania. On the island of Kastos, the only settlement of the island, with traditional stone-built houses and taverns, are built around its port, in the mouth of a picturesque bay. Boats, fishing and sailing vessels are moored here. Local delicacies of Kalamos are fish, lobster, Aliada (fish broth with potato and garlic), fish pie (pie with fish and raisin).
