Greece Celebrates European Cultural Heritage Days 2024
Greece will join the European Cultural Heritage Days 2024 from September 27 to 29, embracing the theme “Routes, Networks, and Connections,” as announced by the Greek Ministry of Culture.
Now in its 28th year, this major cultural event will feature a vibrant lineup of exhibitions, workshops, performances, and guided tours, all highlighting how heritage fosters community, sustainability, and cultural exchange across Europe.
A Special Year for European Cultural Heritage
The 2024 celebration holds extra significance as it marks the 70th anniversary of the European Cultural Convention, signed in Paris in 1954 to strengthen cultural collaboration across Europe.
This year’s theme emphasizes both tangible and intangible heritage, focusing on shared values, traditions, and connections that have shaped Europe’s cultural identity. Events will take place in person and online, making it easy for participants to engage from anywhere.
Visitor Information and Entry Guidelines
Starting April 1st, 2024, all visitors to participating heritage sites — including the Acropolis and its Slopes — must have timed entry tickets.

Tickets are valid from 15 minutes before to 15 minutes after your selected time slot.

Arrival recommendation: Arrive 30 minutes early to ensure timely entry.

For those with a combined ticket, the mandatory date and time apply only to the Acropolis & Slopes, while you have five days to visit other archaeological sites.
