Britt & Bo: From Vineyards to Monasteries—and a Carpet Detour

Curating the Perfect Shorex in Greece

When Britt and Bo began planning their Mediterranean adventure, they wanted more than typical port stops. Their vision? A seamless mix of local culture, nature, and cuisine—all experienced through curated Shorex in Greece and a few unforgettable land days.

With their cruise itinerary set, they turned to us to craft the in-between moments—the ones that would turn their trip into a true journey.

Floating Monasteries in Meteora

Their first Shorex in Greece took place on March 31st, when their ship docked in Volos. We arranged a private taxi tour that whisked them away to the breathtaking monasteries of Meteora. Suspended atop towering rock formations, these ancient retreats felt almost otherworldly.

With an early start and a smooth drive, they were able to enjoy the stillness of Meteora before the crowds arrived, and still made it back to port by 3 PM—just in time to relax and reflect.

Cooking, Sipping, and Exploring Rhodes

On April 4th, their next Shorex in Greece unfolded on the west coast of Rhodes—a full-day culinary experience. It wasn’t just sightseeing; it was tasting, touching, and creating.

They chopped cucumbers for tzatziki, learned how to roll dough for traditional cookies, and tasted freshly harvested olive oil and locally produced souma. The wine flowed during a vineyard visit, and they toured a replica of a century-old Rhodian home—offering a deeper sense of place.

This wasn’t just about eating well—it was about connecting to Greek life, one dish at a time.

A Taste of Crete

Next stop: Heraklion, Crete, on April 5th. This Shorex in Greece was all about the soul of the island—wine, olive oil, and tradition.

Britt and Bo joined a small group tour through the lush Peza region, where they tasted native Cretan varietals like Dafni and Vidiano, sampled artisan olive oils, and strolled through terraced vineyards.

Lunch was served in the tranquil village of Archanes, where the pace of life slows and everything—from the bread to the wine—is made with heart.

Exploring the Mainland: Olympia & Delphi

Outside their cruise schedule, Britt and Bo explored Greece’s mythological past with private land tours to Olympia and Delphi. From the birthplace of the Olympic Games to the Oracle’s sanctuary, these day trips offered rich historical context that rounded out their itinerary beautifully.

The Great Turkish Carpet Saga

One of the more unexpected highlights? A rug. While passing through Turkey, Britt and Bo fell in love with a handcrafted carpet—only to realize they couldn’t bring it on their flight.

We were happy to step in: storing it in our office and arranging international shipping. The process became a running joke between us, complete with a photo of the UPS driver loading it up. A shared moment that turned into a lasting connection.

More Than a Cruise

Britt and Bo’s Shorex in Greece were never just about checking off sites. They were about flavors, people, and hidden corners of Greek life. From monastery cliffs to vineyard tables—and yes, even a Turkish carpet—we were honored to help shape their adventure.

Here’s to more stories, more sips, and many miles ahead.
