Crete
Crete is the largest and most populated island of Greece and the fifth largest in the Mediterranean Sea. The island has a rich cultural heritage, customs and traditions and forms a whole culture in itself such as the mandinades, the pentozali (dance) and the local spoken dialect of the inhabitants. Knossos is the most important archaeological find of the island and can be visited. Consists of four regional units of Heraklion, Lasithi, Rethymnon, Chania.
