South Attica has tourist areas such as Vouliagmeni-Kavouri, Varkiza, Lagonisi, Anavyssos and Sounio. Varkiza is another beautiful holiday suburb, with many shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as an excellently organized beach. Numerous boats and fishing boats are moored in the small ports of Varkiza. Of particular interest are the cave of Nymphs and Pana, northwest of the School of Evelpides and the wall of Varkiza (part of the port settlement of the Classical period). Lagonisi is a beautiful holiday resort with picturesque beaches, numerous permanent and holiday homes. Anavyssos is a tourist and holiday center, with large hotel units and numerous holiday homes. The beach is a starting point for lovers of inflatable boats on their sea excursions. Sounio is the cape at the southern end of Attica, a place of special natural beauty. The sanctuaries of Poseidon and Athena on the cape of Souni were among the most important in Attica. In addition to the archaeological site, the national forest and the enchanting sunset are a point of reference in the area of Sounio.
